CBS Fires Senior Figure Over ‘Indefensible’ Epstein Emails

CBS News contributor Peter Attia has ended his promotional relationship with a wellness company after facing public backlash over past email exchanges linked to Jeffrey Epstein, according to multiple reports Tuesday.

Attia, who joined CBS News as a contributor in 2025, had been associated with the brand, which sells nutritional supplements and wellness products. Online posts recently resurfaced emails between Attia and individuals connected to Epstein’s social circle, triggering widespread criticism.

“Dr. Peter Attia has stepped down from his role as Chief Science Officer at David. We remain focused on serving our customers,” company founder Peter Rahal wrote on X.

In a statement, Attia — a major investor in the brand — said he would “no longer be associated” with the company, adding that he was disappointed by how portions of the emails were being characterized but acknowledged the controversy had become a distraction from his work.

Company representatives confirmed Attia’s departure but declined to comment on the terms of the separation.

The move followed an apology issued Monday in which Attia said he was ashamed of the “tasteless and indefensible” emails he exchanged with Epstein years ago.

The New York Post reported that Attia’s name appeared approximately 1,700 times in the latest batch of Epstein-related documents released last week.

One 2015 email quoted Attia as writing, “The biggest problem with becoming friends with you? The life you lead is so outrageous, and yet I can’t tell a soul…”
In a separate 2016 message, he made a crude joke referencing Epstein’s sexual behavior.
