New York Attorney General Letitia James has been indicted on federal charges of bank fraud and making false statements to a financial institution, according to multiple news outlets.
The New York Post reported on the indictment, citing a referral by Federal Housing Finance Agency Director Bill Pulte to the Justice Department in April. Pulte alleged that James falsified records to secure favorable terms on a mortgage for a Virginia property.
A widely shared video clip on social media shows New York Attorney General Letitia James declaring, “No one is above the law.”
If James or former FBI Director James Comey face indictments, expect Democrats and mainstream media to cry foul, labeling it an unprecedented authoritarian abuse of the justice system. When they trot out that narrative, hit them with a reminder of their own mantra: “No one is above the law.”
James has a history of leveraging her office to pursue civil fraud charges against President Donald Trump.
Under Trump’s administration, several figures have faced accusations of mortgage fraud, including Federal Reserve Governor Lisa Cook.
