The White House sharply criticized former Vice President Kamala Harris for her distinctive laugh on Tuesday, following her use of the term “motherf**kers” to describe President Trump and his administration during a Monday book tour event.
At the “A Day of Unreasonable Conversation” summit in Los Angeles, Kamala Harris stated, “[T]here is so much about this moment that is trying to make people feel like they’ve lost their minds, when in fact, these motherf—ers are crazy.”
The audience burst into applause after her blunt remark, prompting Harris to laugh heartily in response.
In reaction to her comment, White House spokesperson Kush Desai told TMZ, “Kamala Harris should listen to an audio recording of her cackle of a laugh before calling anyone crazy.”
Harris has often been criticized for her distinctive laugh, with some questioning its authenticity. She frequently employed it to counter attacks from President Trump during their sole presidential debate and on social media. Additionally, she used her laugh to sidestep questions in multiple televised interviews, whether from friendly or critical outlets.
Former second gentleman Doug Emhoff, speaking at the 2024 Democratic National Convention, fondly recalled falling in love with Harris and her laugh, saying, “She called me back and we talked for an hour. We laughed — you know that laugh! I love that laugh.”
